At the 52nd annual meeting of the Doncaster Scientific Society at the Doncaster Municipal Art Gallery, last night, Mr. G. E. Hyde was elected president for the ensuing year; Mr. D. T. Livesey, hon. general secretary; Dr. S. P. Rowlands hon. scientific secretary. and Mr. H. Beldon hon. treasurer.

FIELD MEETING.

The Sorby Scientific Society, Sheffield, held a field meeting at Barrow Hills, near Bawtry, on Saturday afternoon. They were joined en route by members of the Doncaster Scientific Society, and the Rotherham Naturalist Society, and a number of geological and archaeological specimens in the district was examined. Tea was arranged at Bawtry, and a visit was also paid to the famous Bawtry sand pits.
