ROSSINGTON MINE VISITED
The ramble of the members of the Doncaster Scientific Society, on Saturday, was to Rossington. where a new colliery was in course of sinking. The visitors, who were accompanied by the president of the society, M. R. Watson, were cordially received by the manager, Mr. Dyson, and shown all over the works. Sinking has proceeded to a depth of 400 feet, though there is a temporary stoppage due to a slight accident. Many interesting geological specimens were obtained and a visit was next made to the pretty village church, where the ancient registers were examined, and the excursion closed with an enjoyable tea.
