The Mansion House, Doncaster, was last night thrown open to the members of the Doncaster Scientific Society, on occasion of their annual conversazione and exhibition.

There were a large number of interesting objects on view, and Mr. W. H. Pickering (H.M chief Inspector of Mines) delivered an illustrated lecture on “Mining in India”, giving valuable information on the geological features of the country, with remarks on the prospects of trade in the East.
