Notice of AGM – Saturday, 18th January 2020

The AGM is this Saturday in the visitor centre/cafe at Potteric Carr. If you could arrive soon after it opens at 9 am so that you can pre-order your lunch and buy your drinks. The meeting will start once that is done. Hopefully the meeting will be over by 11.30 am. We are seeking nominations for new committee members and ideas for speakers and especially for summer outings. The AGM will be followed by lunch and a walk around Potteric Carr.

The fees are due at or shortly after the meeting, so you can pay the treasurer on the day. It would be helpful to Nora if you could have the correct money and/or put the money in an envelope with your name on. Nora would also encourage you to pay by bank transfer but please contact her by email if you do so she knows that you have paid.

A plea from the Editor of Doncaster Naturalist Journal

Category : Doncaster Nats , Requests

Please could you all have a think and consider putting finger to keyboard (or pen to paper) to write something for the next Doncaster Naturalist. Either an article, interesting finds, research, anecdote, etc. Photographs too would be much appreciated.

I would like everything by 16th February please – that gives you a full 5 weeks to exercise your creative muses!

Please could you send your offerings to

Thanks in anticipation

Reminder of Next Meeting – Saturday, 4th January 2020

The Doncaster Naturalists’ New Year Walk is at Fairburn Ings RSPB Reserve on Saturday 4th January 2020

To get there go north up the A1 and take the A162 turning. Continue to the Fairburn sign, then drive through the village (passing the 3 Horseshoes on your right). The reserve is signed about a mile out of the village. There is a charge for parking for non-members, but they don’t seem to enforce it with any vigour.

Meet at 10.30. There are 2 potential walks, we will choose depending on the weather and likely sightings.

I have booked a table for lunch at the 3 Horseshoes, as mentioned above. The menu is very broad, from sandwiches to full lunches. They would like to know how many to set a table for, so please will you let me know if you are intending to come by 31st December. or 01977 620725

Happy New Year
