The Role of Lichens in Shaping our World

Prof. Mark Seward will give a presentation on the importance of Lichen in shaping our environment.

Mark is Honorary Research Professor at Bradford University and Honorary Professor at Lincoln University.

He has a strong interest in biomonitoring pollution, particularly of heavy metals and radionuclides.  

He has written more than 430 scientific papers, mostly concerned with biomonitoring, urban ecology, lichens, biodeterioration and the history of botany.

Tales of a number of enthusiastic naturalists who have a fascination with insects and invertebrates.  Including former Doncaster Naturalists Honorary Life Member and renown authority on Diptera, the late Dr Peter Skidmore.
